Survival of the Weakest

The exhibition presented at the Sunroom Project Space, Wave Hill in 2015. aricoco portrayed a powerless insect queen, dependent on her workers and soldiers, as well as on protective garment and headgear, for her continued reign. The insect colony’s setting mimics a carnivorous garden inhabited by a giant bug, which is supposed to create a delusion of a desperate human who is disguised in a bug, almost like “the donkey in a lion's skin” but with a hierarchy reversed.
